Our 5-Day Coffee Lovers Event will Immerse any coffee lover or buyer  in the heart of Guatemalan coffee culture with a unique 5-day event that blends hands-on learning, networking with local growers, and the breathtaking beauty of Lake Atitlán.
Over the course of this five-day journey, participants will experience Guatemala’s coffee-growing traditions, gain practical roasting skills at the renowned Lake Atitlán Roasting School, and meet local coffee farmers to explore sourcing opportunities—all while enjoying the stunning backdrop of one of the world’s most beautiful lakes.

Day 1: Arrival in Antigua & Welcome Dinner

  • Arrival in Antigua, Guatemala
    Guests will arrive in the charming colonial city of Antigua, known for its rich history, vibrant markets, and world-class coffee culture. After settling in, you’ll have time to explore the picturesque streets and visit some of the local coffee shops.
  • Welcome Dinner and Event Overview
    In the evening, join your hosts and fellow participants for a welcome dinner at a traditional Guatemalan restaurant. You’ll receive an overview of the event’s schedule, key activities, and objectives, including how to make the most of your time at Lake Atitlán Roasting School and with local coffee growers.

Day 2: Journey to Lake Atitlán & Coffee Farm Exploration

  • Scenic Drive to Lake Atitlán
    After breakfast, participants will embark on a scenic drive to Lake Atitlán, nestled in the Guatemalan highlands and surrounded by volcanic peaks. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of the stunning landscapes and hear about the region’s rich coffee-growing traditions.
  • Arrival at Lake Atitlán Coffee Farm
    Upon arriving at the coffee farm, participants will be introduced to the farm’s owners, who have been growing coffee in the region for generations. This farm-to-cup experience will begin with a tour of the plantation, where you’ll learn about the coffee growing process, from planting and harvesting to drying and processing.
  • Farm-to-Table Lunch
    Enjoy a delicious farm-to-table lunch on the property, featuring local ingredients and flavors that highlight the region’s culinary traditions. Over lunch, you’ll get the chance to network with the farm’s owners and your fellow participants.
  • Introduction to Coffee Sourcing in Guatemala
    The afternoon will feature a session on sourcing coffee in Guatemala, led by local experts who will discuss the challenges and benefits of buying coffee directly from growers in the region. Day 3: Hands-On Roasting at Lake Atitlán Roasting School

  • Full-Day Roasting Workshop
    Day 3 is dedicated to learning the art of roasting at the Lake Atitlán Roasting School, set against the stunning backdrop of the lake’s pristine waters and volcanic mountains. This hands-on workshop will take you through the entire roasting process, from understanding bean characteristics to achieving the perfect roast profile. Under the guidance of expert roasters, participants will practice roasting small batches of coffee and explore the nuances of flavor development.
  • Cupping Session & Flavor Profiling
    In the afternoon, participants will partake in a cupping session, where you’ll taste and evaluate the beans you roasted earlier in the day. Day 4: Coffee Farm Tours & Direct Sourcing Meetings

Participants will visit two to three small, family-owned coffee farms, each with its own unique approach to coffee growing and processing. This immersive experience offers an inside look at how Guatemalan coffee is produced and the passion that goes into each cup.
  • Sourcing Opportunities
    During these visits, you’ll have the chance to meet directly with growers to discuss potential partnerships and coffee sourcing.
