Living the Dream Pandemic House of Cards
Living the Dream Pandemic House of Cards. A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. During a typical lifespan, a person spends a total of about six years dreaming (which is about two hours each night).
Living the dream two years ago for me, a simple and rewarding life living in Guatemala. I had a purpose, business interests, part of the community on Lake Atitlan, many friends in Antigua, Xela, and Livingston. Years prior I had abandoned my place of life in the US. Leaving my past, from a capitalist point of view, chasing the American Dream.
In the fall of 2019 I met an American Woman on a tour, she kissed me at the end of the day, hopped on a boat, and left. Over time we fell in love. In the spring of 2020, the Pandemic began. Like most, we felt this will be short-lived, Governments promised us quick actions, to protect all from this threat. Living the Dream we believed life would continue as we knew it.
By March of 2020, the realization began that this Pandemic was out of control, Guatemala Borders closed and the World began to understand what we were facing as the Pandemic spread out of control, while the US Government offered little interest in the dangers we faced. Separated from this new love we only had Whats App to talk each day, providing support and hope for each other.
I survived during the Country closure, keeping business interests running as best we could. Tours were none existent during the closure, our shipping business with Ethical Fashion Guatemala continued to grow during these times.
Living the dream we both created for a life together, on September 18th the Guatemala Borders reopened, she returned to the Lake, our time to start our life once more. Three weeks of never leaving each other’s sides. She returned to the US with plans for me to visit her. Dreams that never materialized. In part due to the lack of leadership by the President of the US during this time.
Living the Dream Pandemic House of Cards
For me, the Pandemic house of cards began to fall after the US Election. Wear a Mask, get Vaccinated, became a battleground, not only in the US in many countries, the population resistance was no different than the 1918 Pandemic “Spanish flu” as the pictures I use in this post offers. During 1918 Pandemic news media flashed pictures in NewsPapers, Wearing a mask was resisted, Vaccines were debated.
Nearly a third of the global population, or an estimated 500 million people, had been infected in four successive waves. Estimates of deaths range from 17.4 million to 100 million, with an accepted general range of 25–50 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history.
During the 18 months of this political mess, yes Covid is political, about our rights. For the most part, I have tried to ignore the media and use common sense, and avoid the misinformation allowed by Social Media. A month ago all changed when one close to me fell ill with Covid, a nonbeliever influenced, it is only a cold. Five days in the hospital on Oxgen changed his point of view.
